What is a health coach?
Health Coaches are well-informed advisors who provide ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make attainable and sustainable changes to improve your health and happiness. As a Health Coach, I help my clients navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to decide what works best for them. I also help my clients stick to diet and lifestyle changes that they may have tried (unsuccessfully) on their own. Accountability is key.
I practice Holistic Health Coaching, which encompasses all areas of your life (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) and how they come together. What and how you eat is very important – but so is the quality of sleep you get, relationship and career stress, and physical activity. Relationships, spirituality, career, and physical activity are solid building blocks to achieving superior health.
Another important part of my practice is bio-individuality – the theory that one person’s food is another person’s poison. Each person has unique food and lifestyle needs dependent on age, gender, race, or level of activity. What works for me may not work for you.
One thing is for certain – I don’t focus on calories or carbs. You don’t have to go totally vegan if you don’t want to. And an “everything in moderation” approach is usually the most successful. My goal is simply to motivate you to feed your body with nutrient-rich foods. Before you know it – the small changes add up to a greater lifestyle shift that keeps you healthy and happy.
