Has anyone else looked at the calendar lately and said “OH MY GOSH SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER?”, because I have done this a few times. I can’t believe how fast the year is going! Listen, I feel like I haven’t been too creative with the kids this summer. I’m kind of in survival mode – pool, pool, throw in a sprinkler. LOL.
I started looking for some new summer activities to do with the kids for August and part of September. Check out my list!
Outdoor Activities (that don’t require leaving your yard/neighborhood)
Practice ABCs and Counting with Nature
Water Balloon Toss
Make and Hang a Bird Feeder
Picnics! (we do these out on the back patio!)
Homemade Ice Cream (we’ve made this already!)
Have the kids put on a Show for the adults
(if you have older kids) Start a Family Cooking Channel
Hide and Seek
Forts on Forts on Forts
Home Movie Night (watch videos of your kids when they were younger)
Board Games (we’ve acquired Candy Land and it’s going well)
Dance Party (freeze dance, musical chairs, name that song, etc)
Write Letters to Family and Friends Far Away
Family Talent Show
Pizza Party (make your own and everyone does their own toppings)
Milk Carton Boats
Painting with Water Guns (best done outside)
Chalk Rockets (SO much fun)
DIY Lip Gloss (all you need is coconut oil and Kool-Aid!)
Let me know, in the comments, what are some of your favorite activities!
