2 Healthy Halloween Treat Alternatives

Fall is finally here! If you know me, you know that I have a special place in my heart for the fall season, only because of Halloween. lol. I do also love everything about this time of year, from the apple cider to the cozy fireplaces.

During this time, healthy treats may be hard to come by. Sugary treats fill the shelves and they taste great, but only for the moment! They never leave you feeling full or satisfied, we know that. There certainly is a time and place for the treats in my house, don’t get me wrong. But! Making homemade treats is a great way to get the kids in the kitchen while also being able to control the ingredients that go into the food you’re all eating.

Ghost Bananas and Pumpkin Clementines are on the menu today and luckily, they’re so easy to make. Your little ones will be thrilled to lend a helping hand and see their Halloween creations come to life. Check out these two suuuper simple recipes down below and try them out for yourself!

Just a quick reminder to prep all of the ingredients before allowing younger kids to help out in the kitchen so that no small fingers are near any sharp objects! :)

Ghost Bananas

Grab your banana and peel it completely. Slice it into two halves. Grab two mini chocolate chips and one regular/large chocolate chip. Press them into the banana to create two eyes and a mouth. Simple as that! Eat them as is or pop them on a stick for less mess.

Pumpkin Clementines

A small clementine will work best for this recipe! Once it’s completely peeled, set aside. Take a thin stalk of celery and chop it into small stem-like pieces. Place the celery piece into the center hole of the clementine to create a cute little pumpkin.

From September to October, these make eating healthy treats fun, so I love when Halloween comes around and it’s time to make them again. Although they’re so cute and easy to make, I’ll gladly make them year-round!
