4 Drinks to Make Happy Hour a Healthier Hour!

Sip sip, hooray! Cheers to the holidays! ✨

Are you going out or staying in this holiday season? With the craziness of having four kids, we’ll be staying in over here! That means I’ll be on drink duty, so I’ve been thinking of a few ideas to whip up for those who are visiting. This season is filled with sweets (for me anyway), so cocktails are the perfect place to reduce any extra sugar. If you need a last-minute Christmas or New Year’s cocktail recipe, check out these four fun drinks to make happy hour a little bit healthier!

Cranberry Mojito

Here’s what you’ll need:

2 1/2 oz of pure cranberry juice

2 oz white rum

2 oz light tonic water

1/2 a lime - cut into wedges

A few sprigs of fresh mint

1 - 2 tsp honey (local local local!!!)

Cranberries

Instructions:

  1. To the bottom of a glass, add fresh mint, a few lime wedges, and honey. Muddle away!

  2. Add in ice, cranberry juice, and white rum. Give it a stir - feel free to strain even though a classic mojito isn’t, I like mine strained!

  3. Top with tonic water. Garnish with cranberries and a lime wedge! Enjoy :)

Strawberry Kombucha + Basil Cocktail

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 bottle of strawberry kombucha

A few fresh strawberries - chopped

A few sprigs of fresh basil - thinly sliced

1 shot of vodka

Instructions:

  1. In a glass, muddle together some strawberries and basil.

  2. Add in some ice and vodka. Stir! Strain if you’d like.

  3. Top with strawberry kombucha.

  4. Garnish with a strawberry slice and enjoy!

Pomegranate Spritzer

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 shot of vodka

1/4 cup pomegranate juice

Club soda

Splash of orange juice, fresh-squeezed

Pomegranate seeds

Fresh rosemary sprig

1 lime - sliced

Optional - honey

Instructions:

  1. Add your vodka, pomegranate juice, and orange juice over ice. Top with club soda and stir.

  2. Garnish the top with pomegranate seeds, a rosemary sprig, and lime slices!

  3. Optional - add a splash of honey for a sweeter touch. Enjoy :)

Cinnamon + Pear Mimosa

Here’s what you’ll need:

Pear juice

Dry champagne

A few cinnamon sticks

Instructions:

  1. Fill your champagne flute with as much champagne as your heart desires!

  2. Top off with pure pear juice. Stir with a cinnamon stick and drop it in your drink.

  3. Cheers!

These four recipes will be on repeat all holiday season at my house. I think my favorite is the Strawberry Kombucha + Basil. Which was your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
